1. 1850 Edward Hardgraves headed over to California to find gold. 2. After a couple of years he sailed to Australia to meet up with John Lister in Bathurst. 3. They found gold not long after, in 1852 NSW found 26.4 tones of gold. 4. The goldfish started in balarat & bendigo (with different countries coming over eg. China) 5. 1850 the acconomy & population were booming, Victoria was supplying more then 1rd of the global gold supply. Ebony

Over 40,000 Chinese people came to Australia in the gold rush. 4. The Chinese were a lot more successful than the Europeans which led to riots. 5. In the 1850's Victoria had produced 1/3 of the world's gold.
